2023 SPLOST

Newton County voters approved to continue the 1-percent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) for 2023 during the General Election on Nov. 8, 2022. 

The 2023 SPLOST was approved with an anticipated revenue of $108 million for the entire County, including $84 million for projects through the Newton County government.

The SPLOST will fund projects broken down into three categories, Basic Infrastructure, Quality of Life and Public Safety. The project list will be recommended by the SPLOST Oversight Committee and approved by the Board of Commissioners.
